Welcome to the Creative Arts Retreat Movement website!

CARM retreats are designed to combine experience of a creative art with opportunities to deepen your spiritual life.

In 2012 each CARM retreat will focus on one, or occasionally two, of the following creative arts: calligraphy, creative writing, fabric arts (embroidery, quilting, art of domestic sewing), music for worship, painting, paper sculpture, photography or poetry.

Times are set aside for prayer and personal reflection.

Non-members as well as members are welcome.

Taster Days

If you are new to CARM

If you have never been to a CARM Retreat and are not sure what it offers and whether it is for you, it might be possible for you to go on a 'Taster Day'. This is a new idea from CARM and the number of 'taster days' around the country is slowly increasing.

Watch this space for Taster Days in 2012.F

If you are already a CARM member

We are always interested to know of people who would like a Taster Day in their area.  It does not need to be at a retreat house.  Get in touch if you would like to follow this up.

Speakers

We are sometimes asked for speakers who would talk about CARM to local groups. We are currently putting together a list of speakers so do get in contact if we can help in this way.

CARM in Nottingham

April 14th to 27th

There will be a CARM Day at All Saints' Church in Nottingham on Friday, April 27th from 10am to 4pm. The cost of the day will be 10. Directions to All Saints' are given below.

We will try as far as possible to follow a CARM retreat pattern with a meditation, times of silence, and time to write, paint, draw or do some fabric art (patchwork).

Tea and coffee will be provided. Please bring a lunch to share.

Also there will be a CARM exhibition from April 14th to 27th at St Peter's church, next to Marks and Spencer. in the city centre.

Directions to All Saints'

Note that parking is very difficult. The nearest tram stop is High School, one stop up from the Forest Park and Ride site, easiest if coming in from the North. If you arrive in Nottingham by train, the tram connects at the station (south of the city) and will bring you to the stop from that direction.
